Mandevu MP Spearheads Road Works

August 31, 2019August 31, 20199By Patrick Mulenga-Mandevu Member of Parliament Jean Kapata says government will ensure all critical cross points in her constituency are constructed and fixed before the onset of the rains.Speaking when she flagged off the construction of a bridge on Ngwerere river, Ms Kapata said out of the 35 bridges needed 19 have so far been erected.She said the constituency will also apply to the Roads Development Agency -RDA- for Acrow bridges.Ms Kapata, who is Lands and Natural Resources Minister, called on members of the community to guard the infrastructure jealously.And a local contractor, Kaona Construction limited working on the bridge, road works and drainages said the project will cost over K980,000 and will be completed in 14 weeks.Company Director Martin Sikaona said government has demonstrated and shown willingness in promoting the growth of local contractors.He however called on contractors in the country to perform to the best of their abilities.
