MALAMBO ADVISES OPPOSITION

By Ruth Chayinda

A Governance Expert, MAURICE MALAMBO has advised opposition political parties to give the ruling party credible checks and balances that are within the confines of the law.

Mr. MALAMBO says the law grants for freedom so expression and freedom of speech but should be done within the law because they are without accountability and sauctions.

He says certain arrests can be avoided if some political party members conduct their activities within the law and avoid unnecessary entanglement.

Mr MALAMBO says the continued sentiments by the PF Information and Publicity Secretary, RAPHEAL NAKACHINDA are out of excitement and attention seeking because the matters he raises are not relevant to positive criticisms.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. MALAMBO also urged the law enforcement agencies to continue on the path of professionalism in the fight against corruption.

He also praised government for plans to establish the Fast track Court because it will be beneficial to the suspects as well.

And, Network for Young People Against Violence Executive Director MOSES KALONDE said any citizen has the right to criticize President HICHILEMA but it should be done with respect and not malice.

Mr. KALONDE said that there is no need for the removal of the defamation of the President clause in the constitution because it will bring about unwarranted attacks on the Presidency.

He said those calling for the removal of the defamation of the President clause in the constitution are hypocritical and have selfish motives.
