Make use of your good days – Nchimunya Mweetwa advises players

The former Zambia forward Nchimunya Mweetwa has advised players to make use of their chance when they are fit.

Mweetwa believes football can be cruel and players need to take advantage of opportunities they get when things are going well.

The former Rovaniemi Palloseura (RoPs) explained how a proposed move to ‘a big French Club’ failed to materialise.

BELOW IS THE FULL STORY:

I was telling a footballer yesterday to make use of his good days when his fit to play because football can be cruel and I told him my share bit of experience.

In 2007 I won whatever was there to win in the league and we won promotion to the premier league in Finland. I was the second highest goalscorer with 17 goals and in the process became a joint record holder of scoring in 13 consecutive games.

I attracted so many interests from different clubs across Europe and one big club in France put an agreement on the table but had a condition that I needed to score 7 goals in the premier league the following season.

I played 7 games in the Premier League registering 3 goals and 2 assists enough to convince the french team and they flew in to seal a deal on a day we were playing a game.

We had very good conversations before the match and off we went to the stadium and my wife and my little baby boy had just come from Zambia so I was in high spirit for obvious reasons.

One minute before the half time I was badly kicked breaking half of my cartilage in my right knee and raptured a meniscus by unfortunately a french defender 🤦 after the match I met the officials in my house while in pain and they wished me the best wishes and said concentrate on your recovery , we will wait for you.brethren that was the last time I heard from them.

I came back to close to my best after 2 years and I was the top scorer again for the club.

This story is something to grasp not only in sport but in life. You are only useful and wanted when you’ve got something to offer.
