Maamba Collieries told to employ more women

Labour and Social Security Minister, BRENDA TAMBATAMBA, has urged  Maamba Collieries Limited to consider employing more females, in order to bridge the gender gap, at the power plant and  mine.

Ms. TAMBATAMBA said this during a labour inspection at Maamba Collieries Limited, in Sinazongwe District.

She has further urged employers in the country to adhere to labour laws and policies.

Mrs. TAMBATAMBA said adherence to labour laws and policies will not only enhance productivity but will also contribute to the Gross Domestic Product of the country.

Meanwhile, Maamba Collieries Limited Chief Operating Officer, DAVID KUMAR pledged his company’s continued complying and improving operations in line with all labour related legislations.
