LUSITU IRRIGATION SCHEME TO BOOST AGRICULTURE

Over three hundred and eighty two households of Chirundu District are set to benefit from the construction of the Lusitu Irrigation Scheme under the Irrigation Development Support Project (IDSP).

Chirundu District Agricultural Coordinator Emmanuel Silwimba says about two hundred and seventy hectares of land has been earmarked for the Irrigation project which will benefit small scale and commercial farmers.

Mr. Silwimba notes that the World Bank funded project which is under the Ministry of Agriculture and being constructed by Savenda Limited is almost complete.

And District Project Liaison Officer, Fredson Mwiinga said all the displaced households have been compensated.
