LUSE Share Index closes February on high

The Lusaka Securities Exchange -LuSE- has recorded an all time high on its all share index pushing the market capitalization value to 95- billion Kwacha.

This follows the closing of February with an all time high of 12,071. 82 -points representing a 12 percent gain.

The index measures the movement of share prices of all listed companies on the Stock Exchange.

In an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka today, LuSE Chief Executive Officer NICHOLAS KABASO says the market is attracting increased investor confidence due to positive sentiments around key policy pronouncements.

Mr. KABASO said the market has also seen a lot of appetite among businesses seeking to use the Exchange in raising capital especially at a time when the cost of funding on debt remains high.
