Lusaka water co to start water rationing
Ruth Chayinda-Lusaka Water and Sanitation company says it will soon start rationing water especially in areas that are fed by the companys boreholes.
LWSC Acting Manager for Public Relations and Marketing NSHAMBA MUZUNGU says the rationing of water will be caused by the low yield of waters during the onset of the hot season.
Mr MUZUNGU says therefore it is important for all citizens to properly conserve water so that the situation can be managed .
He says in an interview with ZNBC News that the company has observed that most boreholes don’t give good yields during the hot season which leads to the supply of water been affected .
Mr MUZUNGU says the rationing of water will also allow the boreholes to recharge for distribution of water .
He however said those areas that are getting water from the Kafue bulk water supply project will be expected to continue having steady supply of commodity .
