Lungu Swears-in PS

By Sharon Kunda -President Edgar Lungu has called on newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to ensure prudent utilization of public resources.President Lungu says the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee looks up to them to explain how public resources are being utilized.The Head of State said this when he swore in three Permanent Secretaries during a swearing in ceremony held at state house in Lusaka today.The three are Danies Chisenda, Permanent Secretary Ministry of National Development Planning, Chanda Kaziya Permanent Secretary Ministry of Labour and Social Security and Daniel Bukali Permanent Secretary Provincial Administration North Western Province.President Lungu said he has appointed the three because he has confidence in them and that he had conducted a lot of inquiry before appointing them.He has called on them not to let him and the people of Zambia down.President Lungu has also urged them to work in consultation with their predecessors by having adequate hand overs and also work with officers below them.And speaking to journalists after the swearing in ceremony, the three Permanent Secretaries expressed gratitude to the Head of State for the appointments.Mr. Kaziya said there is need to strengthen the social dialogue structure and to work with trade unions and employers to address pending issues in the labour sector.Meanwhile, Mr. Bukali said he will continue from where his predecessor ended in enhancing Development in western province.And Mr. Chisenda said he will use his vast experience in the civil service to build on national development.
