President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is today expected to officially open the 1st session of the 12th National Assembly.

The Head of State is expected to make major pronouncements as he begins his five year term as 6th President of the Republic of Zambia.

Some of the expected pronouncements includes the formation and realignment of Ministries and the national reconciliation and healing process.

The 12th session of the National Assembly is composed of 88 Members from PF, 58 from UPND, 14  independents, four from MMD and one FDD.

By press time Parliament grounds was characterized by Dance troops, celebrations and ceremonial traditional dances as Dignitaries arrived at the Parliament buildings in Lusaka.
