Lungu Makes Changes at PS level
September 3, 2019September 3, 20192President Edgar Lungu has made changes at Permanent Secretary level.President Lungu has appointed Director-General at the Zambia Public Procurement Authority Danies Chisenda as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of National Development Planning, with immediate effect.And, the President has also promoted Labour Commissioner Chanda Kaziya as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Services.President Lungu has transferred Ministry of Labour and Social Services, Barnaby Mulenga to the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development, while the contract of his counterpart in the same Ministry, Paul Chanda has been terminated.At the Provincial Administration in Western Province, the President has promoted Deputy Permanent Secretary Danny Bukali to the position of Permanent Secretary for Western Province, with immediate effect.On contracts at Permanent Secretary Level, the President will not renew the contract of employment of David Shamulenge and his counterpart Brigadier General Emeldah Chola when they expire next month.Trevor Kaunda, Permanent Secretary at Cabinet Office in charge of Management Development Division has been transferred to the Ministry of Energy.Meanwhile, the President has transferred Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environment Protection, Edward Chomba to the Ministry of Local Government, while his counterpart at the same Ministry, Amos Malupenga moves to the Ministry of Tourism and Arts in the same capacity.Higher Education Permanent Secretary Mabvuto Sakala has been transferred to the Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environment Protection.Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of National Development Planning Mushumwa Mulenga has been transferred to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, while Kayula Siame has been transferred to the Ministry of Higher Education.President Lungu has also transferred Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs Katongo Chifwepa to Cabinet Office, while Tourism and Arts Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela has been moved to the Ministry of Guidance and Religious Affairs.The President has since congratulated those who have been promoted and transferred and wished them God’s blessings.And President Lungu has expressed gratitude to Permanent Secretaries whose contracts have not been renewed for the service they rendered to Zambia and has wished them well in their future endeavours.This is according to a statement released to ZNBC News by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Isaac Chipampe.
