The governing Patriotic Front party has now come out in the open saying the Commonwealth should not spearhead talks in Zambia.

Following a disputed election and imprisonment of leading opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema on trumped up charges, the Commonwealth intervened and have been pushed for talks between Hichilema and President Lungu.

PF aligned political parties such as ZDDM of Edwin Sakala the last two weeks have gone to town discrediting Commonwealth saying ZCID, a local biased organisation should spearhead the talks.

Now the PF has finally indicated that it is not interested in talks by the Commonwealth saying they should channel their recommendations through ZCID which it wants to head the talks.

The PF at it’s Central Committee meeting at the weekend resolved that ZCID spearhead the talks.

With Hichilema saying ZCID has no capacity to spearhead the talks, it is now clear that these talks have broken down.
