LUNGU COUNSELS CHIEFS ON LAND

By Hector Simfukwe- President Edgar Lungu has warned village headmen against selling huge pieces of land without following procedure.

President Lungu says there will be no chiefdoms in future if village headmen continue selling land.

The President says some headmen have even gone to an extent of selling communal grazing land without thinking about their people.

And President Lungu has appealed to village head men and women to respect Chiefs.

He says people who have settled in other districts and have been appointed as headmen are expected to respect local traditions, leaders and their cultural practices.

President Lungu says the appointing of village head men from other provinces by chiefs is what makes the one Zambia One Nation motto.

He said this when he addressed village headmen and women in Ngabwe District.

Meanwhile, President Lungu has promised to deliver a bridge along the Kafue River to the people of Ngabwe before he leaves office in 2026.

The President said this is because he is winning in 2021.

President Lungu said the people of Ngabwe have no reason to doubt his promises going by what the PF has done in the area so far.

He said electricity and roads will soon be given to the people of Ngabwe.

And speaking on behalf of the headmen, Paison Ngangula thanked government for the early distribution of farming inputs.

Mr. Ngangula said the PF administration is slowly transforming Ngabwe through infrastructure development.

Meanwhile, Central Province Minister Sydney Mushanga said the construction of schools, hospitals and houses in Ngabwe has excited the people.

Later, the President held another meeting with chiefs Mukubwe and Mwenuna in Ngabwe District.
