Lungu begins Civil Service appointments
President Edgar Lungu has started civil service appointments. This is after he spent almost three weeks creating a 23 member Cabinet with 10 Provincial Ministers.
Lungu in the lastest appointments has named a few Permanent Secretaries who are expected to be sworn in at State House today.
According to the latest appointments Lusaka Permanent Secretary Sturdy Mwale has been transfered to the Ministry of Defence as Permanent Secretary as Luapula Province PS Boniface Chimbwali will now head to Public Service Managenent Division (PSMD) as PS replacing Dr. Velapi Mtonga.
Lungu has meanwhile brought in Dr Buleti Nselukila, the former Energy PS as Luapula PS.
In a press release made available to issued by Cecilia Lubumbashi Mulenga the Presidential Chief Analyst for Press and Public Relations and made available to Zambian Eye, Lungu will swear in Nselukila and others at a ceremony today.
“President of the Republic of Zambia has appointed Dr. Buleti Nsemukila as Permanent Secretary for Luapula Province.
“President Lungu made the appointment pursuant to the provisions of Article 92 (2) (e) of the Constitution of Zambia,” she said.
“The President wished Dr. Nsemukila success and Gods blessings in his new assignment.
Dr. Nsemukila’s appointment takes effect after he is sworn-in at the swearing in ceremony which takes place at State House today (Thursday, 6th October, 2016).
In exercise of the powers vested in him pursuant to the provisions of Article 92 (2) (e) of the Constitution of Zambia, he has appointed Dr Nselukila as Permanent Secretary for Luapula Province.” The presidential aid said in a statements.
