Long patient queues at UTH irk Lusambo

Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has expressed concern at the continued long queues of patients at both the University Teaching Hospital and Chilenje First Level Hospital in Lusaka.

Mr. Lusambo who made impromptu visits to the two hospitals expressed disappointment that some patients are not attended to on time, a situation he said should be addressed as soon as possible.

He says there is need for health personnel to ensure that they attend to patients on time because other sectors are affected due to delays in attending to people.

And UTH Nursing Officer, Georgina Chipowe has attributed the long queues to the number of outpatients the hospital has been receiving.

And UTH Neurosurgeon, Dr. Kachinga Sichizya says the hospital management is doing everything possible to ensure the hospital is decongeste.

Dr Sichizya says the hospital has come up with measures to ensure that the long queues are attended to.
