Livingstone youths shun CDF scholarships

217 youths who were awarded bursary scholarships under Constituency Development Fund -CDF- in Livingstone have not taken up the offer.

Livingstone City Council, Public Relations Manager, MELVIN MUKELA says the youths have not reported owing to different challenges such as the lack of a feeding component in the bursary while others wanted to be given cash.

Mr. MUKELA says the council received about 1,200 applications for the bursaries.

And in Mosi-Oa-Tunya Ward, area Councilor ISAAC MUKWATI said three of the twenty youths awarded CDF bursaries have not taken up the officer.

Mr. MUKWATI said currently 10 females and seven males are enrolled at the Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies -LIBES- while two females and one male have not reported.
