LIVINGSTONE FARMERS SET FOR 2021-2022 SEASON

By Angela Limwanya -Livingstone District Cooperative Union Chairperson, RWINNICK MAPANZA says small scale farmers in the district have enhanced preparations for the 2021-2022 farming season.

Mr. MAPANZA told ZNBC News in an interview that with the district having received 80 percent of the inputs under the Farmer Support Input Programme-FISP, farmers are getting ready to deposit money.

He said currently, about 65 percent of the cooperatives have deposited money for them to access the inputs.

Mr. MAPANZA stated that most farmers now understand the system and appreciate what they are getting from the Ministry of Agriculture.

He said despite the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the farmers are promising to deposit their monies by the end of September this year.
