The Levy Mwanawasa Stadium has been temporarily cleared to host the upcoming World Cup Qualifier between the Chipolopolo and Congo Brazzaville.

The Confederation of African Football -CAF -has given temporary clearance for Zambia to host its first leg home encounter against Congo Brazzaville on Friday the 17th of November 2023 after an engagement with the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ.

FAZ General Secretary REUBEN KAMANGA confirmed the development to ZNBC Sports News in an interview today.

KAMANGA says the country has only been allowed to host this first leg at home as they will have to meet all the requirements before they are certified to host the remaining Group home games.

He says the Association will use the window given to ensure that they complete the remaining works on the venue as CAF will be monitoring the progress.

KAMANGA says so far works have to be done to guarantee the country the safe hosting of the first leg encounter.

He has since called on Football fans to come turn up in numbers and support the Chipolopolo as they commence their World Cup Journey.

The Congo Brazzaville Game will be played on November 17th 2023 at 18:00 hours before the AVRAM GRANT coached side travels to Morocco for the second group tie against Niger.
