LAZ SUSPENDS MWANAWASA

The Law Association of Zambia -LAZ- has suspended former First Lady MAUREEN MWANAWASA from practicing as a lawyer.

LAZ Secretary SILAS MAMBWE says Messrs Levy Mwanawasa and Company has also been closed as it is a one man firm.

Mr. MAMBWE says the decision to suspend Mrs. MWANAWASA and the law firm is with immediate effect.

Following the letter addressed to the acting chief Justice and the courts among other, Mrs MWANAWASA is not expected to appear before any court or tribunal until further notice.
