LAZ GUIDES ECZ ON FRESH NOMINATIONS

By Hector Simfukwe -The Law Association of Zambia has guided that the Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ-  to call for fresh nominations were a Parliamentary Candidate resigns or dies before the date of elections.

LAZ Honorary Secretary SOKWANI CHILEMBO says were the above situation presents itself, ECZ is obliged to cancel the election and call for new nominations.

Mr. CHILEMBO says LAZ has communicated with the ECZ and that the commission has agreed that this is the position.

Zambians United for Sustainable Development aspiring candidate for Mandevu Constituency, Melody Musutu died early this week.

Mrs. Musutu died at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) after a short illness.
