LANDLOARDS URGED NOT TO INCREASE RENTALS DUE TO ESCALATING COST OF LIVING

The Zambia Association for Landlords and Tenants Arbitration is urging landlords to be lenient with their tenants by not increasing rentals amidst the high cost of living that the country is currently facing.

Association National Secretary Edward Simuyuni is concerned that with the current high cost of living were fuel pump price is unstable as well as likelihood of increased water and electricity tariffs; it is cardinal that landlords are considerate by not increasing rentals for now till the economy stabilizes.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr Simuyuni has encouraged tenants and landlords to make individual arrangements before increasing rentals as increasing rentals may have adverse effects on a lot of tenants.
