Kwacha appreciation attributed to investor confidence

Katwishi Bwalya-Trade Expert GILBERT NKAMBA has attributed the appreciation of the Kwacha to Investor Confidence in the Zambian economy.

Mr. NKAMBA says this has been triggered by good governance issues such as media freedom, freedom of expression and the robust drive by the new deal government to fight corruption.

He says this has given investors assurance that their money is safe in Zambia.

Mr. NKAMBA was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka .

And Mr. NKAMBA has predicted a further appreciation of the Kwacha saying investors are likely to bring in more in the country owing to the prevailing environment.

He cautioned that issues of development are a matter of national interest that every Zambian should take interest in.

Currently one US dollar is trading below 16 kwacha from the highs of 18 as of last week.
