Kitwe Industrial Yard Set to Open in September

The 24 million Kwacha Industrial yard in Kitwe is set for commissioning at the end of September.

However, the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission CEEC is currently scouting for funds to operationalise the yard.

CEEC Director General CHARLES MUNGULE says the commission is currently scrutinizing potential cooperatives that will operate in the industrial yard.

And Kitwe District Commissioner LAWRENCE MWANZA said the local leadership is now looking at improving the Bulangililo Bridge before activities start at the industrial yard.

Mr. MWANZA said once funds are approved, the bridge will be worked on as well as the road network leading to the Kitwe industrial yard.
