Kitwe DC Wants SA Accident Victims Buried Together

Kitwe District Commissioner Binwell Mpundu has pleaded with three families in Kitwe who lost their beloved ones in the South Africa Royal Bus accident to have the remains put to rest at one cemetery and on the same day.

Mpundu made the appeal to the three families when the three bodies arrived in Kitwe on Sunday afternoon.

He said with President Edgar Lungu having declared national mourning, it is important that the three are put to rest at the same time.

“We have made an appeal to the families so that they consider allowing us have one funeral service for the three and if possible allow us to have the three buried in one cemetery,” he said.

Mpundu further said more information regards to burial will be communicated to the public especially that the three funerals are being held in three different places.

He said the funerals are being held in Twibukishe, Twatasha and Chimwemwe Townships.

Government has announced Tuesday 25th September, 2018 as a day of national mourning in honour of the 11 people that died in the said accident,” he stated.
