Kitwe Council Told To Stop Developments On Barrack Land

Local Government Minister Charles Banda has directed the Kitwe City Council to immediately stop developments being undertaken on the Mawlaik Barracks Land.This follows a directive from President Edgar Lungu to the Local government Minister to ensure all the structures that have been built on the same land are demolished.Dr. Banda told ZNBC News that the land belongs to Zambia Army.The Minister said the land in question is a sensitive area which should not be encroached on.Mr. Banda has since implored all the local authorizes in the country to ensure all the procedures are followed in land management.
