KAZIYA CLOSES BETUZ CONFERENCE

By Angela Limwanya:Ministry of Labour Permanent Secretary Chanda Kaziya has advised labour unions in the country not to be emotional when addressing issues related to the Constitutional Amendment Bill Number Ten.Mr. Kaziya says union leaders must instead engage into constructive and open discussions with the government to find a lasting solution that benefits all stakeholders.He was speaking in Livingstone last night, when he officially closed the Basic Education Teachers Union of Zambia -BETUZ- 13th Annual General Conference.Mr. Kaziya praised BETUZ for spearheading the fight for the improvement of education standards in rural schools.And presenting the conference resolutions, BETUZ National Women’s Chairperson Bridget Mutambo called on the government to expedite the electrification of schools in remote areas.Ms. Mutambo stated that the electrification programme will help advance the provision of information and Communication Technologies-ICTs in rural schools.
