First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda’s son Kaweche has denied giving a story to the Mast newspaper alleging that the family has rejected the burial site reserved for the country’s founding father at Embassy Park.

Mr. Kaunda says at no particular time did he meet or talk via phone to any journalist from the Mast.

He has wondered where the newspaper got the information from.

Mr. Kaunda says he has since asked the Mast newspaper to retract the false story.

He says his elder brother Panji Kaunda is the family Spokesperson who is speaking on behalf of the family regarding the funeral.

Mr. Kaunda was speaking to ZNBC News in a telephone interview in Lusaka.

And updating the nation on the funeral and burial of First President Kaunda, Information and Broadcasting Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga says everything is proceeding as scheduled.

Mr. Malupenga says tomorrow will be the last provincial tour which will be held in Lusaka’s woodlands stadium.

He said government will use Tuesday to make final arrangements for the burial of Dr. Kaunda which will take place on Wednesday 7th July at the Presidential burial site in Lusaka.
