Katete United, Panza, and Young Nkwazi make it two wins in two in FAZ Eastern Province Provincial Division One

Eastern province fondly called Kum’mawa over the weekend specifically Sunday went into a football frenzy with 6 fixtures as two were postponed due to some teams recording positive covid-19 results while one game was a walkover.

In Chadiza at new showground grounds, Chadiza united who almost played FAZ/EDEN national league playoffs last season as they finished one point behind eventual participants Petauke suffered a 2-1 loss to visiting Katete Rangers who dominated the first half as they scored two before Chadiza United pulled one back but they failed to get better than the one goal.

ZamFoot Crew who were at the scene caught up with Chadiza united Communication officer Albert Ndhlovu who attributed the loss to experiments, “instead of the coach putting the team which won the first match, the coach wanted to try some new players then he realized when it was too late by then we were down by 2-0 and after making some substitutes we pulled one back” he said.

In Chipata at Munga grounds, a derby match ended in a one-all draw. It was a match that was end to end action played at full strength. Zesco Chipata was the first to hit the punch that counted when they scored first before Chipata city council fought back to score from the spot to share the spoils, 1-1 ended.

In Gondar Barracks of Chipata, the soldier boys Panza FC continued with their command at the summit following a hard and labored win against Smiling Kids FC who accounted well for themselves despite a loss which was their first this season having won their first match 5-0 against Prison Leopards Chipata of Namuseche prisons.

At Nyimba grounds, Nyimba United failed to replicate their 0-2 away win to Chadiza police Rangers when they played at home to visiting Katete united as they were taken to the cleaners with a one-nil loss. It was a game in which they could have picked up a point as they dominated the midfield but the experience of Katete united made them pay for their blunders.

The ZamFoot Crew was at the scene and caught up with the winning coach Ezekiel Siamalambo who had this to say:

If it wasn’t for the experience and determination from my boys, we would have been talking about a different result for my team otherwise Nyimba played well, I saw the weakness for my team very fast, we were lacking in the midfield with the formation my opposing team used so I had to change the formation to suit their play which paid dividends and I made an early substitution which increased firepower upfront for us to get the only goal of the game.

Prison Leopards playing at home at Namuseche Prison grounds they condemned Nyamphande Kum’mawa to their second defeat of the season with a 3-1 win in a game in which they played to a second-best level whole 90 minutes.

In katete at st Francis grounds of st Francis mission hospital, St Francis FC recorded an emphatic 3 nil win over Chadiza Police Rangers who are yet to score a goal this season and lie bottom with no point from two games.
