KATEKA UPBEAT WITH VOTER TURNOUT

New Heritage Party President CHISHALA KATEKA has described the voter turnout as good and called on Zambians to maintain peace and order as they await the election results.

Speaking after voting at Lusaka Golf Club polling station, Ms. KATEKA said even if some political parties may be aggrieved after elections, they should restrain their members from going out in the streets to cause havoc.

She emphasized on the need to maintain peace after elections and beyond.

And COMESA Secretary General CHILESHE KAPWEPWE has described the turn out in these year’s elections as good.

Speaking after casting her vote at Lusaka Golf Club, Ms. KAPWEPWE said the good turnout in this year’s elections means the will of the people will prevail.

She said it is important that all stakeholders accept the will of the people at the end of the electoral process.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Central Patriotic Front Candidate MARGARET MWANAKATWE said it is encouraging to see the great turn out in the number of voters and demonstrates that Zambians want to exercise their Democratic right to vote.

Ms. MWANAKATWE said this after casting her vote at Lusaka Golf Club.
