Kasenengwa UPND Candidate Suffers G12 Certificate Nightmare

The spectre of grade 12 certificates left some prospective candidates seething with anger after they could not file for local government elections.

In Kasenengwa Constituency the opposition UPND was forced to withdraw   its candidate Rodgers Hara who failed to produce a grade twelve certificate but instead produced a grade twelve testimonial which was not accepted by Electoral Commission of Zambia.

The opposition party was forced to make a last minute replacement thereby fielding Peter Mwenda.

UPND campaign manager Anderson Mwale said he was confident his party would win the seat.

Mwenda will square off against PF’s Saul Zulu in Kasenengwa.

In Chipangali NDC candidate Samuel Lugomo Phiri failed to file his nomination because he could not produce a grade twelve certificate.

Lugomo who is also Eastern Province NDC chairperson claimed he left his grade twelve at the party’s secretariat in Lusaka.

PF has fielded Million Tembo while UPND has floated William Banda.

PF campaign manager in both Kasenengwa and Chipangali Vincent Mwale urged party members not to engage in any form of violence.
