KASAMA AIRPORT WORKS IMPRESS CAA

The Civil Aviation Authority has expressed confidence that the rehabilitation of Kasama Airport will address some of the challenges people in the district and the province are facing due to lack of air transport.

Authority Acting Board Chairperson Patrick Nswana who inspected works has advised the contractor working on the airport to deliver quality works in accordance with civil aviation guidelines.

Mr. Nswana explained that the authority wants to ensure airports in the country meet international standards.

He said having airports that are of good standard will enable planes to land and take off without challenges.

Mr. Nswana and his team are in Northern Province to inspect the works at Kasama Airport and other facilities.

And Northern Province Permanent Secretary Charles Sipanje appealed to the Civil Aviation Authority to ensure works at the airport are expedited.

Mr. Sipanje expressed confidence that once the airport is operational, it will help boost development in the area.

He stated that tourists and investors will be able to visit the province without facing challenges.

Meanwhile, Ng’andu Consultant Limited Inspector of Works Rodgers Bowa said works at the airport are progressing well.
