By Etambuyu Katota– Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations Bonny Kapeso has warned police officers against standing idle while individuals break the law.
Mr. Kapeso says such conduct is unacceptable.
He has challenged police officers to be proactive.
Mr. Kapeso was speaking to journalists in Kasama shortly after checking on the situation in town following a report of a clash between UPND and PF cadres.
He expressed disappointment with some police officers who did not take action to stop the fracas.
Mr. Kapeso further warned political party cadres against lawlessness during the ongoing Lukashya Parliamentary by election campaigns.
He said there will be no exceptions in the enforcement of law and order and that anyone breaking the law will be dealt with accordingly.
