The Zambia police service says it is concerned with on going speculations of a video that has gone viral on social media showing a woman being attacked by UPND cadres.

Inspector General of police Kakoma Kanganja said in a statement yesterday that the police service has not received any formal report concerning the incident.

“Efforts have been made and are still being made to locate the victim and place of this incident,” Kanganja said.

Kanganja said so far police officers had been dispatched to Southern and Western provinces to try and locate the victim of that incident.

He therefore appealed to any person with information on the whereabouts of the victim in the video to report to any nearest police station so that offenders could be brought to book.

“We would like to still appeal to all peace-loving Zambians to desist from enganging in violent activities.” Said Kanganja.

He assured Zambians that the police service will sternly deal with perpetrators of violence regardless of their political affiliation.
