Kamanga cheers Olympic qualification

The Football Association of Zambia -FAZ -says the Copper Queens back-to-back qualification to the Olympics has re-invigorated the association’s energies towards grassroots football development.

Association President, ANDREW KAMANGA says the qualification is a culmination of FAZ’s long term project to develop the women’s game.

KAMANGA says the team’s never die spirit that overcame a 2-1 first leg deficit to win 2-0 away and punch their Olympic ticket, is very impressive.

He has stated in a statement that FAZ will make sure the team is adequately prepared for the Olympics.

At the Olympics, set for this July, the Copper Queens will join Nigeria, the other African team, but Zambia has been drawn in Group B, alongside USA, Germany and Australia.
