“Kalomo Hunger Being Contained”

By Angela Limwanya -Kalomo District Commissioner Cosmos Chiiba says the hunger situation in Kalomo district is being contained as the district has continued to receive relief food.Mr. Chiiba  says on Monday, the district received an additional eight -thousand, nine-hundred and sixty by twelve-point five-kilogram bags of mealie meal and one-thousand, one-hundred and twenty bags of maize bran.He explains that the old stock that was received earlier is still being distributed and that the Disaster Management and Mitigation committee will continue identifying needy areas to receive the new stock.Mr. Chiiba  has told ZNBC news in an interview that, his office has further made a request to the Food Reserve Agency-FRA to increase maize stocks in the district to allow more people access the commodity.
