KALABA OPPOSED TO PARTY BRANCHES IN MARKETS

Democratic Party Leader HARRY KALABA has opposed governments move to allow party cadres to form branches in Markets and Bus stations on condition that they do NOT interfere with the operations of the facilities.

Mr. KALABA says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA during his address to parliament already gave his stance on the matter and that this should be respected.

He says doing so will enable the traders to operate in a conducive environment that is free of politics.

Mr. KALABA notes that there is NO need for the minister of Local Government and Urban Development and UPND party members to subtract from what the President said.

Mr. KALABA said this in an interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka today.

Yesterday, Local Government Minister GARRY NKOMBO said political parties can form Branches in Markets and Bus stations but should not interfere with the operations of the councils.
