Kaindu unimpressed with Zanaco’s draw against Lusaka Dynamos

Sensational Zanaco have continued to struggle and have since joined Forest Rangers as top joint draw specialist on 14 draws this season after a scoreless draw against relegation-threatened, Lusaka Dynamos at Nkoloma stadium.

The Bankers have only managed to pick up one win from their last seven games.

Zanaco boss, Kelvin Kaindu believes his charges controled the whole game despite dropping another vital two points.

Kaindu believes zanaco had the most of the chances despite them not converting them compared to his opponents who did not threaten the Zanaco defense.

Moses Phiri, Chisamba Lungu and Felix Bulaya all came close but failed to convert their respective chances.

“It’s not a point picked, I think it’s two points that we have dropped. I think we controlled the game from the start until the end of the game I don’t know how many chances we had which we failed to convert at the end of the day,” Kaindu told the ZamFoot Crew in a post match interview.

“It’s the rate of conversion in terms of the chances we had. I think we played a team that had one shot at goal, they had no chance I think they had one corner and I don’t know how many corners we had and I don’t know how many chances we had maybe we were a bit in a hurry playing with a bit of pressure so that we get a victory but at the end we failed to get it.”

“It’s to bring back our composure I think we played with a lot of pressure, chances that we had were clear chances especially the last two chances were clear chances one on one with the goalkeeper but I think the pressure was too much on the team that we should get a positive result,” he added.

The Bankers coach believes the team is passing through a bad phase and they played all the football and failed to beat Lusaka Dynamos.

Kaindu was quick to put the blame on himself for the poor string of results.

“I think in today’s game we played Lusaka Dynamos was not a threat I think they stayed behind and probably for them it worked for them to came out with a point, we defended without conceding I think we have been vulnerable in the way that they have been conceding but I think there was no threat at our goal i don’t know how many times we go to the opponents goal but we failed to get the goal,” he said.

“I put the blame on myself, if you look at the CAF games and also the way we have played or even today I think sometimes when you are passing through a bad phase I think some certain decisions even becomes harsh if you look at the red card I don’t think that was a red card, we played with a man down for most part of the game but we still controled it’s just unfortunately that we didn’t get a victory.”

The Bankers have already played two games in a space of four days after the Sunday’s 3-2 home loss to Al Ahly Tripoli of Libya in a CAF Confederation Cup match at the National Heroes stadium.

“I think it’s another difficult game for us to play 3 games within 7 days I think makes it even more difficult and also the intensity of today’s game so much anxiety and so much pressure that we wanted to get a victory i think we pushed so much  even towards the end but it’s unfortunately we didn’t get the victory so we have to look forward to the coming game.”

Kelvin Kaindu still remains positive that Zanaco will finish in the top four to retain a place for continental football next season.

“There is still hope and am sure there is no team that has been confirmed that they have either won the league or probably been relegated, this game probably could have given us an advantage we could have moved i think to the fifth position or so but it makes it even a bit difficult there are still 8 games to be played for but I think today if we had won I think it was giving us a bit of hope in terms of finishing in the top 4, ” He concluded.

Zanaco will now shift attention to match day 5 of the CAF Confederation Cup as they face CS Sfaxien of Tunisia on Sunday who they lost to by a 1-0 scoreline away from home.
