ZANACO Football Club on Wednesday moved out of the relegation zone thanks to a 2-0 win over Forest Rangers in a rescheduled week 7 fixture played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

After the match, the ZamFoot Crew caught up with the Bankers boss coach Kelvin Kaindu who believes the win came as a result of collective efforts especially in the second stanza of the match.

“Everybody worked extra hard it was not an easy game it would have gone either way because we had our chances and they also had their own,” Kaindu said.

“The game opened up in the second half and when we made our substitutions that made it easy for us to score the two goals,” he added.

Coach Kaindu added that the condition of the pitch might have affected the performance in the first half but was thankful that Moses Phiri managed to score two important goals ending his goal drought.

“The Condition of the Pitch made it difficult in the first half but second half we saw a good fight, it’s good to have Moses Scoring a Brace because he has not scored in a long time,” he said.

“It’s important when you get maximum points if you have a game in hand because it’s always a challenge when you are playing in Continental Football so collecting three points and moving up on the log table is an advantage for us as we prepare for the next game.”

The win took Zanaco out of the relegation zone for the first time this season. They moved up to 14th place with eight points.

The Kelvin Kaindu-led side will now shift their attention to the next game which is coming on Sunday as they stay on the Copperbelt and take on Power Dynamos in a week nine fixture of the 2021/2022 MTN Super League.
