Kabwe Central gets 23 projects under CDF

This is under the 2022 Constituency Development Funds allocation.

Kabwe Central Member of Parliament CHRIZOSTAR PHIRI says the ministry of Local  Government has approved the projects and disbursement of funds for the projects will start soon.

Mrs PHIRI has warned the Kabwe Municipal Council to ensure that the projects are implemented in record time without shoddy works.

Speaking when she handed over cheques to 14 cooperatives which have been funded under CDF at the cost of 485 thousand kwacha for various projects, Mrs PHIRI said corruption must not be condoned in developmental projects.

She said all projects which are being funded by government must be monitored to ensure that they are executed and completed.

And one of the beneficiaries REGINA DAKA of Chikondi Chamoyo Cooperative said it is the first time in history that cooperatives in Kabwe got empowered without a struggle.

Ms DAKA said the approach the New Dawn Government has taken to bring transparency in CDF projects is commendable as many people are benefiting countrywide.

Meanwhile, Kabwe Mayor PATRICK CHISHALA has warned that all beneficiaries with CDF Funds will be audited to avoid abuse of funds.

Mr CHISHALA said public funds must be accounted for and the local authority will monitor the work of all the 14 cooperatives which have been funded.
