K1.3M FOR MILENGE ROADS

By Patricia Banda:One Point Three Million Kwacha has been set aside for the improvement of the road network in Milenge district, Luapula province.District Council Chairperson Chanda Masheke has disclosed that the setting aside of the money is aimed at fulfilling the campaign promise, during the recent by elections, to the people of Milenge on their request for better roads.Mr. Masheke said all roads in the area are in bad state affecting the Agriculture sector in the district.He has told ZNBC News in Milenge that once the roads are worked on, the district will attract investment opportunities from countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo.And, Mr. Masheke said a study has been done to grade feeder roads which includes the Matenga -Ponga road by the Zambia National Service- ZNS-.
