K1.2M RELEASED FOR GREAT NORTH ROAD

Government has released one point two million Kwacha to the Road Development Agency -RDA- Regional office in Muchinga Province for the spot improvement of bad sections of the Great North Road from Mpika to Nakonde.
RDA Director of Communications Masuzyo Ndhlovu says some sections of the road that are in need of urgent attention are at Lukulu crossing between Mpika and Serenje.
The other is Vitondo crossing between Chinsali and Isoka.
Another point is Kapilonga and Ilendela between Isoka and Nakonde Districts.
Mr. Ndhlovu has told ZNBC News that the current works are being executed in collaboration with the Zambia National Service and that all these interventions are part of the short-term measures being undertaken by the Agency.
He said the long-term intervention being done along the Chinsali-Nakonde road include the moving on site of the two contractors to carry out a full rehabilitation and mobilizing of equipment at Kapili 54 kilometers from Chinsali towards Isoka and Sansamwenje.
