Ministry of Information & Media Principal Planner Clifford LAMBA says journalists must be empowered with knowledge of how rightly to cover human trafficking.

Mr. LAMBA has noted with concern the growing incidents of people falling prey to human trafficking.

He was speaking during a four day capacity building workshop in Kabwe, Central Province being held by International Organization for Migration -IOM- on protection and human rights for vulnerable migrant groups.

Mr. LAMBA who is also focal point person on human trafficking, has hailed IOM for organizing such a workshop to highlight how best to effectively tackle human trafficking related offences.

The training has attracted various stakeholders drawn from across country including media practitioners , the Zambia Police Service and social welfare officers.

IOM is currently implementing the Africa Regional Migration Programme which aims at strengthening the capacities of Governments in Africa on effective migration management.
