Luca Video struck in the second half of extra-time to send 10-man Italy through to the semifinals of the FIFA under-20 World Cup via 3-2 victory over Zambia in an enthralling match played in Suwon.

The Azzurini showed remarkable resilience, twice coming from behind to level the scores and force the match into extra-time despite being at a numerical disadvantage against a free-scoring Zambian side.

Patson Daka ensured a dream start for Bestone Chambeshi’s side with a fine finish inside four mintutes but Italy replied five minute into the second half courtesy of a Orsolini header.

Fashion Sakala thought he had won the game for the Junior Chipolopolo with his 4th goal of the tournament in the 84th minute but Federico DiMarco’s stunning freekick four minutes later sent the match into extra-time.

With a penalty shootout looming, Vido rose highest to power home a header and put an end to the Zambia’s fairy-tale World Cup campaign that yielded an impressive 12 goals.
