This Sunday the Lusaka derby comes alive as the Pensioners, Napsa stars host the policemen Nkwazi football club at Nkoloma Stadium in an early kickoff.

The importance of this match to both sides is that Napsa is sitting in the relagation zone on position 15 with 15 points after playing 15 matches will be hoping to revive the glory days as they will be fighting to move out of the dreaded relegation zone while on the other hand, Nkwazi will be hoping to collect maximum points as they are pursuing ABSA CUP qualification and if they win against Napsa chances of qualifying will be high.

Speaking to the ZAMFOOT crew in a pre-match press conference, Napsa Stars captain Dickson Chapa said the match against Nkwazi will be very tricky because these sides know each other so well but were quick to say that his side was equal to the task.

“Tomorrow’s (today) game against Nkwazi will be an interesting game as you know it’s a local derby and local derby games are very tricky for the fact that we know each other very well but I think for us as Napsa starts we are very ready for the game we are well prepared and we will continue believing in ourselves and we are desperately looking for maximum points so the way will approach the match is what will determine, we want to go into the match with high intentions of picking up all the points because we’re sitting on the log is not good our goal is to move out of relegation before the first round,” he said.

Napsa has been boosted by the return of some key players who were out injured. Midfielders Danny Silavwe, Enock Sabumukama, winger Austin Banda and striker Mavugo are all fit and ready to go. Luka Banda is also back from national duty.

In the last five meetings of these two sides, each has won once recording 3 draws with only 2 goals scored in these same 5 matches.
