Zambia Under 20 Women’s national team Coach Charles Haluboono described his team’s 4 – 1 win over Botswana at the ongoing COSAFA U-20 Championships as a tough encounter.

Haluboono was, however, happy his team collected maximum points which he feels they really needed to boost the morale in his side going forward.

“It is a good victory for us but I knew the game was going to be very tough for us, knowing that Botswana had lost their first game so I knew that we were not going to have it easy it was not easy for us,” Haluboono said.

He has called on his players to keep pushing and not relax when they are leading which leads to complacency. He said that he will keep on encouraging them so that they keep fighting.

“If you observed I kept on talking throughout the game because when we were 1-nil up they thought we have already won the game they started becoming very careless in defense so that’s why am trying to push on that. We will keep on encouraging them so that they are not relaxed,” He told the ZamFoot Crew.

The Junior Copper Queen’s last Group Game is Against second Placed Tanzania and Haluboono won’t leave any stone unturned by taking the game lightly as he continues to improve in different areas so that he can form a formidable side going forward.

For Tanzania, we will take it seriously because as you know this is a new team so we are trying to improve in all the areas so that we can come up with a formidable team which would be able to compete at any level so we will take that game seriously-Haluboono

The team’s main target going into this tournament was to qualify to the next round and now that they have managed to achieve that feat, The target has changed and he is looking for God’s Guidance to help reach them to the finals.

“Our target was to qualify to the second round which is almost done now. we will put everything in the hands of the Lord, if all goes well with the help of God we reach the final we will be more thankful.”

Zambia and Tanzania will lock horns on August 6 as both teams will take a short trip away from their base to Wolfson Stadium in a lunchtime kick-off scheduled for 12.00hrs and it’s a winner takes it all in terms of the first position.
