I will not waste my time fighting Mumba in Court- Mutati

Opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) president Felix Mutati says he will not waste his time fighting faction leader Nevers Mumba in court.

Mr. Mutati does not think the MMD will be fixed in court.

And Mr. Mutati says there is currently no other way a party member can ascend to the position of party president other than through elections.

He has reminded that Dr. Mumba that this is what actually happened in 2012 when he and others stood with him for party presidency but lost the election.

Mr. Mutati says he did not however go to the Courts of law because this is how democracy works that one emerges a winner and others as losers.

He says the MMD was founded to give oxygen to Zambia’s democracy and therefore party members and leaders should not betray the confidence that the party founding fathers put in.

Mr. Mutati said this when he addressed party members in Luapula when he opened a two day provincial conference.
