How will the Copper Bullets line up against Iraq

The Zambia national team will this evening square off with Iraq in the first of three international friendly matches that they play this month.

Chipolopolo boss Aljosa Asanovic has carried a locally assembled 21 member squad for the match against Iraq which falls outside the FIFA window.

The ZamFoot Crew now looks at how the team may line up for the match.

Red Arrows goalkeeper, Charles Kalumba is expected to start between the sticks ahead of Lawrence Mulenga and Nkana’s Kelvin Malunga.

At left back Prosper Chilufya is likely to start with the battle for right back being stiff with Simon Silwimba, Shemmy Mayembe and Benedict Chepeshi all in the running for a place.

Kabwe Warriors’s Dominic Chanda will start at the heart of defense either alongside Solomon Sakala or Miguel Chaiwa.

Donashano Malama is expected to start in a defensive midfield role with Chanda Mukuka, Joshua Mutale, Harrison Chisala and Patrick Gondwe all competing for the attacking midfielder spot.

ZESCO United duo of Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba and Spencer Sautu are primed to start on the wings. Albert Kangwanda could also be pushed on the wing.

Upfront, Asanovic could give Alex Ng’onga his first start in over four years at the national team.

Youngsters Kangwanda and Derrick Bulaya could provide an alternative for the number 9 position.

Zambia and Iraq will duel at the 33, 000 capacity AL Madina Stadium in Baghdad in a 19:00 hours CAT kickoff.
