Hotel industry contributing positively to Zambian tourism Hilton Garden Inn GM

THE hotel industry is positively contributing to the transformation of Zambian tourism, says Hilton Garden Inn general manager Kudzayi Nheweyembwa.

Briefing journalists after a media tour of the 20-storey refurbished hotel in Lusaka on Thursday, Nheweyembwa said Hilton Garden Inn was adding value to the Zambian tourism sector by increasing the number of bed spaces and employment in the country.

He said the Hilton brand, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2019, was renowned across the world for creating unforgettable experiences to its clientele.

Hilton Garden Inn is an award-recognised, mid-scale, service focused brand that continually strives to ensure today’s busy travellers are appreciated and have everything they need to be most productive on the road. HGI Lusaka is a modern, upscale business and leisure hotel that offers guests affordable accommodation and modern amenities for a successful and comfortable stay. HGI is one of 15 district brands in the Hilton portfolio, comprising of more than 5,400 properties in 106 countries, said Nheweyembwa.

As part of empowering communities that we operate in, Hilton is currently involved in three community projects. The hotel has so far created over 100 employment opportunities for Zambians, with 30 per cent of the positions going to the youth, who as you know, are the future.
