Hike In Fuel Pump Prices Looming

Government has clarified that it will only increase fuel pump prices on the new stock to be purchased due to changes in global trends such as the attack on fuel storage facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Energy Minister Matthew Nkhuwa has told Phoenix News in an interview that from the old stock, Government will maintain the current prices but indicated once the new fuel stock is in, there is likelihood that prices will be adjusted upwards.

Mr. Nkhuwa has explained that the price of fuel on the international market currently is high thereby forcing government to start considering increasing the domestic price of fuel.
