HH,SAMIA Lay Wreaths at Freedom Statue

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and his Tanzanian counterpart SAMIA SULUHU-HASSAN this morning led various dignitaries in laying wreaths at the freedom statue in memory of the fallen heroes.

Speaking in a homily, Chaplin General Brigadier General Reverend HENRY MATIFEYO said there is need to uphold peace in Zambia and Tanzania so that development is achieved.

And, United Nation Resident Coordinator, BEATRICE MUTALI has congratulated Zambians on their 59th Independence anniversary.

She said Zambia has set an example for many countries in the region in the way it has maintained peace over the years.

Ms MUTALI said Zambia stands tall in the region as it continues to make efforts to advocate peace on the continent and beyond.
