President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Zambia will dedicate efforts to guarantee a stable and predictable environment that will attract and protect local, regional and foreign direct investments and enhance local participation.

President HICHILEMA says Government has set a high priority on restoring macroeconomic stability and attaining fiscal and debt sustainability as a way to sustain economic growth.

He says this will enable the country promote economic growth, enhance economic diversification and manage the contraction of debt.

President HICHILEMA has expressed confidence that the measures put in place will restore macroeconomic stability and put the country back on economic recovery.

The head of state says Zambia has embarked on an ambitious economic and social transformation agenda with a view to create equitable opportunities and poverty reduction for the Zambian people.

President HICHILEMA however notes that the economy at the moment is faced with numerous global concerns such as the pandemic and climate change.

And President HICHILEMA has reiterated his new dawn Governments fight against corruption saying it will be the centre of his transformation agenda.

He says the new administration will ensure transparency, accountability and enhance consultative dialogue.

The head of state said this during his maiden speech to the United Nations General Assembly.

He also said Zambia will. Continue to support national, regional and international initiatives aimed at protecting peace and security.

The head of state has also reaffirmed commitment to play an active role in the SADC mission in Mozambique aimed at restoring peace to the Cabo Delgado province.

And on COVID-19, President HICHILEMA said despite placing the vaccination programme high on the list of the Mitigation measures, Zambia has only managed to vaccinate about 3 percent of its population against the targeted 70 percent.
